Vibration monitoring in road and rail traffic

Vibration measurements assess the effects of rail traffic on people in buildings.

Traffic, especially rail traffic, induces vibrations and secondary airborne noise in neighboring buildings and structures. As part of the transport transition, many lines will be modernized and newly constructed in the coming years.

Vibration monitoring and noise measurements determine the necessity and effectiveness of protective measures along the lines and especially in residential areas. Here, as in the construction industry, spectral prediction methods are used to assess the effects of rail traffic on people in buildings. These methods also serve as evidence.

Automated evaluation of vibration measurements

In cooperation with DB-Systemtechnik, SEMEX-EngCon has developed and tested the METRIS RAILWAY analysis software, which automatically evaluates the vibration measurements collected with MENHIR according to the underlying standards.

METRIS
